Prairie points and my first giveaway!

I know - I haven't been here for a good while! I would like to say that I have been sewing instead, but I haven't been sewing as much as I would have liked, either.

However, today, being a "bonus" day off, I have found myself some ME-time:

The sewing machine came out, and I made some course-samples: Prairie points in different ways!

I'm not sure I'll be making them on a real quilt soon, I found it quite fiddly, though after doing several rows they kind of grew on me, so who knows... I may try - some larger ones maybe.

Also, today the crafty-blogging-world seems to be buzzing with something! Being a bit curious (actually quite nosey), I have found the source of the buzz:

SewMamaSew is having their Giveaway Day (ed. the giveaway is now over). Even better, the giveaway day is lasting all WEEK!!

So what better day to have my first ever (!) giveaway on this blog?!

Some of you have been secretly (or less secretly) preparing items to give away, making things and/or gathering goodies for a while now, but (of course) I am much less prepared having only decided today to join the wave of giveaways...

So, I will be giving away a charm pack of at least 40 squares (5" x 5"). It's only a small gift, but we all have to start somewhere! And I will be able to send it internationally, so anyone can try to win!

To win this, please tell me in a comment what kind of fabrics you would most like to see in a charm pack (type of print, colour, or anything else...). If you win, I'll try to tweak the pack to include more of your favourites!

(edit) Thank you for all comments, I am returning a short reply where possible. So far there have been (only) a handful "noreply" bloggers. If you don't receive a short reply from me, you're most probably one of them! If you are a noreply blogger (or if you are not sure) and you do want to win anything (not just with me) then mention your email in your comment!

The giveaway is open until May 10 at 5 p.m. (PST) which I think is midnight GMT. I'll be drawing a winner randomly after that.

If you like giveaways, go and check out the others at Sew Mama Sew, there are literally hundreds to choose from!!!

And while you're here, feel free to have a look around...

 Sandra

I love lots of things but I think I am going to end up looking for the right charm pack of Eye Spy Quilt Squares as fussy cutting yardage to get them just goes against my fabric conserving nature. I use every scrap. I only this week learnt that I shouldn't use the selvage as one of my seam allowances to squeeze a little more out of my fabric as it apparently shrinks diffrently.
